I'm 6 feet tall and I currently weigh 230lbs. I have recently been diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes. I am taking Metformin every day to help lower my blood sugar and have to prick my finger several times a day to monitor it. My goal is to get down to 180 or so and be able to stop the metformin and the finger abuse. We can talk more about how I plan to do that elsewhere but first, a quick introduction:
My name is David. I usually go by Dave or David or D-ray depending on from where you know me. I am originally from a small town called Paris, Tennessee. It is on the north-western shore of Kentucky Lake about 120 miles west of Nashville and 140 miles northeast of Memphis. I lived all over the USA and spent about 7 years in Japan before coming back to Tennessee to go back to school to get an MBA (Master of Barely Anything) at UT Knoxville. Now I live in White House, TN and work for a company that sells D.I.D brand motorcycle chain and rims as well as industrial and agricultural chain products. I used to run the power sports division here but now I am the HR and Administrative Manager whcih apparently means that I have to do all the stuff everybody else refuses to do.
I have a wonderful wife named Fuki (sounds like 'FOO-kee") who is from Japan. She is the light of my life and is my best cheerleader, coach and disciplinarian as I work to get back in shape. I am excited about getting in shape, and even more excited that I now have a virtual partner whom I also count as a friend doing the same thing. Until next time, here's a picture of Fuki and me on the day we got married in November 2006.
